WING ROOT
FAIRINGS

RV 7A
| After two and half years of
having the wing root fairings on the drawing board and finally in
flight test, the wing root fairings are now available.
The wing root fairing is designed to require
very little trimming and no laminating when you receive
it.
The wing root fairing comes in two parts and
is jointed in the middle of the wing. All models can expect
to trim the front half of the fairing to length at the location of
the rear half.
The RV 6A and RV 7A will need to make three
cut-outs. Two for the step and one for the gear leg.
No additional holes are required in the wing. A minimum
number of screws and nut plates will be required in the
fuselage.
The initial test flights appeared to have no
change in aircraft performance. It appears at this time the
major advantage is cosmetic. Many thanks to Reed Usery for his
